Infinitive Form
Infinitiv

This is the infinitive form. In order to form infinitive, English language uses particle TO, and German uses particle ZU, like: Ich habe ZU tun. = I have TO do. However, as in English, the German particle ZU is not used with modal verbs, as well as with: lassen, bleiben, gehen, hören, sehen, lernen, i.e.: Kann sein. = Can be., Lass mich spielen. = Let me play., Wir bleiben stehen. = We remain standing (continue to stand).

German Present Perfect is used to describe past actions. However, if you use the verb SEIN than for describing the past use rather Simple tenses than Perfect.

Passive Voice - Passiv

This is very similar to the Passive Voice in English, where an action is not done by the subject, but upon the subject and therefore the subject plays passive role in the sentence.
German language has two forms of Passive Voice: Vorgangspassiv and Zustandspassiv.
Vorgangspassiv (action) describes an action or a process, like: Die Tür wird geöffnet.=The doors are being opened.
Zustandspassiv (state) describes not the action but the state or the result of some action, like: Die Tür ist geöffnet.=The doors are opened.
Vorgangspassiv is formed with the helper verb werden + the verb in the Perfekt form.
Zustandspassiv is formed with the helper verb sein + the verb in the Perfekt form.

Examples Vorgangspassiv:

Sie werden gesagt. = You are being told., Du wurdest gesagt. = You were being told., Sie ist gesagt worden. = She had been told.
Examples Zustandspassiv:

Er war gesagt. = He had (already) been told., Das ist gesagt. = That's been said.

usage:

sagen + (Akkusativ) = to say (something)
sagen + (Dativ) = to say/tell (to someone, to something), i.e.:
   Sag ihm. = Tell him.
sagen + (Akkusativ) + (Dativ) = to say/tell (something) + (to someone, to something), i.e.:   Ich sage es dir. = I am saying it to you.
sagen + (Akkusativ) + (Dativ) + in = to say (something) (to someone) into (ear, face, ...)

absagen = sagen ab = to cancel (flight, trip, ...), i.e.:
   Er hat das Termin abgesagt.= He has cancelled the appointment.

ansagen = sagen an = to announce, i.e.:
   Ich habe über den Konkurs angesagt.= I announced the competition.
ansagen = sagen an = to dictate, i.e.:
   Ich möchte Ihnen einige Briefe ansagen.= I would like to dictate you a few letters.

aufsagen = sagen auf = to say from memory, i.e.:
   Sie sagt einen Vers vor der Klasse auf. = She recites a verse/poem in front of the class.

aussagen = sagen aus = to testify, or to give evidence, i.e.:
   Sie werden unter dem Eid aussagen.= They/You will testify under oath.

zusagen = sagen zu = to suit, to appeal to, i.e.:
   Dieser Wein sagt mir zu. = This wine appeals to me.
zusagen = sagen zu = to say directly, i.e.:
   Sie sagte ihm das zu. = She told that straight to him.
zusagen = sagen zu = to accept, i.e.:
   Ich habe auf seine Einladung zugesagt. = I accepted his invitation.
dazu sagen = to add something (verbally), i.e.:
   Was sagst du dazu? = What do you add to that? (What more can you say to that?)

bescheid sagen (Dativ) = to inform, to let know (to someone), i.e.:
   Sag mir bescheid. = Let me know. (Inform me.)
